Default F14 Vs Torquer V3

what do you guys think about these cams? how much horsepower are you guys getting out of them with heads and without? and how will they react to some nitrous? I might be getting a good deal on a brand new F14, but i kinda wanted to go with a torquer V3.... but kind of getting a deal on this one... what would you guys do? So let me know what everyone thinks and hopefully it will help out!!! also has anyone heard of a 4 7 swap... my dad keeps telling me about it but i've never heard anything about it....

I think that you can get around 400 cam only with the T3, not sure about the F14. I believe that the 4-7 swap is only good in gen 1 SBCs (and I guess that it could be done in a gen 2 motor since they are basically the same bottom end.) I haven't personally seen that the 4-7 swap has any real benefits. I've never heard about it for Gen 3 motors, plus the gen 3 is a complete different design with a different firing order, so the 4-7 swap wouldn't even work, it would have to be diffferent cylinders, and it doesn't have a distributor so it would be harder to make the ignition system work. Unless I am stupid, there is not one for gen 3 motors.

ok thanks about the 4 7 swap i kept telling my dad if there was something like that i would have heard of it!!! the guy sold me the f14 plus the cam kit everything brand new for 500.... i thought that was an amazing price and couldn't resist... whatever it doesn't make in horsepower with heads and cam i'll make up for it with my nitrous set up.... i'm hoping for 550 heads cam and nitrous do you think that will be possible with a 125 shot?

It is a good cam, Like the TV2 it is a 232/234 but on Cam-motion lobes which are a tad less aggressive than XE-R. The Futral cams are know for good undercurve power.

Is it a 112 or a 114?
IAC it will be good for spray.

You cannot go wrong with the F14 cam. In my z06 I did 423 rwhp and 408 rwtq cam only. When I added Dart 205 heads to the package I moved up to 451 rwhp 423 rwtq.

You have to remember he did that on a Z06 (LS6), which means he has the 243 heads stock, which are good for a bit more power... You won't necessarily see his numbers on a stock head LS1.

yeah that is true!!! but i'll be happy with close to 400 n/a i mean i get a great deal on the cam and kit... and it got me away from going so big that it might not be to street friendly... because i drove a trex'd car and it wasn't to bad just for some reason if you took off slow and was in the parking lot and instead of giving it gas to go, pushed in the clutch and let off the gas it would stall... didn't jump around to much, and idle great... i think i will be happy with it... my plans keep getting bigger and bigger..... it started with bolt ons with some spray, then went to a cam with the spray and now is pulling the motor putting some forged pistons it and bumping the spray up to a 200 shot....
