Low oil pressure at WOT
The engine is a 383 LS1 with a MS3 in a 99 C5.
At idle (600-1000rpm) the car shows between 38 and 41psi. Cruising at 2000rpm, pressure hangs slightly lower (36-40psi).
While accelerating or using any more than half throttle, the pressure drops to around 35psi and will jump up to 43-45psi after letting off the throttle.
I don't think the sending unit is bad (pressure doesn't spike or fluctuate wildly). For what it's worth, the engine makes a consistent tapping, it sounds like it is on the top end of the engine, but I haven't had a chance to further identify it. Oil pressure never runs any higher than 45psi or so no matter how fast the engine turns.
Any ideas or suggestions?

The tapping COULD possibly be a lifter. Happened to me and a few people I know, sooo thats like my diagnosis for a tapping in the top end now (assuming its not a spring or a pushrod).
As for the PSI thing, sending unit? Check to see if it got damaged if youve swapped intakes lately or anything.
