Default HELP! Put spacers under windage tray, now pickup tube hits oil pan!

What do to? Break out the hammer and smack it a few times?

Let me clarify: To clear a 4" crank I had to install 1/8 spacers under the windage tray so the connecting rods won't hit it. Now I cannot install the oil pan, as it hits the pickup tube and I cannot get it flush with the block.

Nevermind, figured it out. I used a piece of bubble gum and stuck it on different spots of the oil pan, and found out its actually a rib in the middle of the pan near the front. I'm gonna grind it down a bit, and keep workin! Actually I'm just gonna call it a night and get an early start tomorrow.

After you get it clearenced, put clay on the pick up tube and smoosh the pan down on it. I forget the reccomended clearence, but if you search you may find it. Adding the spacers does decrease tube to pan clearence and you need to make sure you have enough.

I was thinking of cutting the windage tray to go around the pickup tube, so it would be installed at its original height. I was wondering how it would suck up oil if it was too close to the bottom, I'll do the bubble gum test tomorrow lol

Ok, I ended up having to cut the rib down on the front of the oil pan almost all of the way. I also had to remove the baffle from the pan, and there is a lip that sticks up, it is 2 pieces tack welded together I had to remove some material from that too. This is on a C5 oil pan, so I don't know if an f-body pan would be different.
