Default HELP,My son really got on the GAS

I was warming up the car and my 7yr old was helping me wipe the interior off and then it frickin happened. He accidentally got on the gas and I heard it bounce off the rev limiter about 5 damn times. Should I worry? I drove the car that day and my oil pressure was normal, along with the usual valvetrain noise. Is There anything else I should look for or inspect?
any help will be greatly appreciated .
thanks

I bounced mine off 6500 a bunch of times before I learned how to shift better. As long as nothing sounds different it should be A-OK. I think most problems are associated with a missed 2-3 shift, when it goes into 1st gear.

LMAO thanks guys, hell yea I was proud!!! It did scare him cause the car was backed in to the garage It was so loud that my wife came running to the garage saying the house was shacking and thought a bulldozer was in the living room. The neighbor even came out and wanted to know what was going on!!!

But it was an accident, and the car so far is running ok. I had it out for a couple of hours listening to the O.R. Ls1 symphony w/ no ill noises or vibrations.

I heard that CHuck

The boy knows a good car. You raised him up right. I'm very Pontiac proud.

But seriously, the car will be okay and you'll have a story you can laugh about when he gets older.

I can't count how many times my car has bounced off the rev limiter @ 6800.

I launch at 6400-6800 RPM on a 2 step and shift at 7100 RPM. Your engine is fine

It's a mechanical over-rev that you have to be careful of, hitting the rev-limiter isnt a big deal. Your all good man
