What is wrong....?
I have a problem. I recently installed a cam and oil pump, and my oil pressure is acting weird. I start the car when its cold it will go to about 45-50psi. And for the first ten minutes of normal driving it goes to 60psi no problem. Once the car is warm, it will idle at 40psi for a short time. But by the time I get to work 25-30 minutes tops its idling at low 20s(22-25). But when you give it gas it jumps up to about 40-43psi instantly. And at WOT wont go over 45, 50 tops. Whats up?
I have already replaced the pick up tube oring, and made sure that it went in smooth. And I did not bolt the pump to the block until after the pickup tube was on and bolted together.
I just dont know whats up. It runs smooth and there is no power loss at all. It pulled like a **** when I did get on it. The only thing out of the oridinary is a wine, like a supercharger belt wine, sometimes.
Any help would be greatly appreicated.

Yeah. I installed a LS6 intake manifold. Does the sensor go out often? I read alot of people break them when they swap intakes, so I took my time and was careful in feeding the booster hose around it. I too thought it could be the sending unit, but figured if I broke it it wouldnt work period.

^^^what filter would you suggest? I have a wix on there now.
Could overheating play a role in the pressure doing what its doing. Because for some reason it is overheating.

If it's overheating throw a new thermo in there while your changin the oil. I use a Pureone filter. They are supposed to be the best from a test a local guys company did. Here is a link, I got mine at either O'Reillys or Pepboys for under $5.

I'm experincing a simular problem. I just changed the oil at 500 miles and put in 10w-30 instead of the 5w30 and it really made no difference. It has been suggested that I hook up a mechanical gauge and get a true reading. Someody said there is a place by the oil filter whereyou have access.

YEs.. The oil pressure sits FIRM at 60psi now at idle..
This is what it was doing before the new O ring (after install of MS4 cam and PRC stage 1 heads and Ported oil pump -=Mod=-'s car).... BAD valve tick too. I think the O ring fixed that also..

Then if that doesn't fix it move on to that repair.
