Thumbs down Katech Rod Bolts 199$ plus shipping

I called katech today to order some rod bolts and was told they are 199$ plus shipping. Wow this seems way to high since arp are only $79. WTF is with this price. They did inform me that there price has increased. They need to lower there price , does this seem a bit high to anyone else???

Not supply and demand. Let me put it to you this way....if we kept the retail price the same, we would be LOSING money on the rod bolts. We are getting killed on these things.

Just curious, exactly what are we getting for the additional money that we wouldent get with the ARP bolts?

Direct replacement. No resizing or measuring stretch is necessary. You could do this in the car 1 bolt at a time.

How is that achieved? Is the alloy your bolts are made of different? Or is it the way they are designed?

Jason,

Are the rod bolts necessary on 2001+ LS1's? I have read many times that GM improved the bolts in 2001 LS1's

Thanks

well they`re direct replacement stonger bolts that will get the job done just like the arp ..... it`s just a matter of being comfrtable with resizing or measuring stretch and being able to reselling them to someone that wants the same thing stronger direct replacement .... to me it`s a better deal since many engine builders local in Kuwait just tourqe the bolts and will not take the time to measure properly.

I also think they are worth it for piece of mind. I know I don't want to have to worry about resizing or measuring stretch when I do mine. I have also heard form somewhere that the Katech bolts are stronger than the ARP's.
