Default Valve seal install

The end is near on this cam install, I swear. I only got 4 springs/seals changed out and then the rain hit. Anyway, I had some trouble with the valve seals. Some of them just popped right on and went flush with the seats. However, some wouldn't and I'm left with 1/4" gap. Is there a special tool used to install seals, am I doing something wrong? I made sure the piston was TDC but I can't help but wonder what's up. THanks for the help.

Default Re: Valve seal install

I did mine a little over a week ago, and I just used a pair of locking pliers to remove them, and a 12mm deep socket to push them on (after oiling them up). I just pressed them on until they came to a stop. They all stopped at the same height... Try the socket...

And make sure you don't mix up the intake vs the exhaust seals, they are different!
