Default Valve job questions? Is this true?

I was told that if I were to send my AFR 205’s for valve job that I would loose some Horse Power Due to the supposed fact that AFR has a proprietary valve seat design. Now I’m wondering if it’s worth it to send them out. I just want to clean them up, make sure their straight (since I was loosing a little coolant on nitrous), and mill them a little. I would like to hear all or anyone out there that recommends a good place to send them for a valve job?

I'm sure someones looked at them. Are they just radius cut? If that's all, most of the reputable engine shops can do that.

I had mine touched up when I bought them, and milled and I don't feel I lost anything, 431hp, 405tq.

Why not just send them to AFR and get it done right? Call Tony and have the right people look them over in the first place. If they were Patriots you should send them to Gunnar at Patriot. But they're AFR's so send them to Tony at AFR.

That was my first Choice but when I called AFR,. AFR told my that they only work on the heads if it's a warranty issue and that I will have to send them to an authorized AFR dealer instead. I was also informed(by one of the shops) that I might loose a little horsepower due to the supposed fact that only AFR has the proprietary valve desighn, Not the dealers. But all in all I'm very happy with my AFR 205's.

I would send them back to AFR. You paid for top shelf heads. Why take a chance.

Call Tony Mamo. ext 109 he'll advise you. Thats the best you can do. IF there is a shop that they need to be sent to then he'll know what shop to send them to. Speak with Tony and only Tony. He'll give you the best advice.
