Default How many have had Flycut their pistons?

Specificlly for the Trex or MS4 or 3. Stock or After market heads it does not matter.
if any other cam swaps required you to post as well.
Just curious i belive this will help me and other choose a cam for my build up.

thanks

I flycut so I could mill for optimum compression. And YES, it survives just fine on the spray.

Flycut with a T-Rex here. 2.02 valves, milled .030, and Cometics. PTV prior to the mill, and with stock gaskets, was almost non existent.

Can't shim the valves. You can cut the valvejob deeper for added clearance but usually results in a loss of flow as the short side radius gets smaller and sharper. A poor way to go if you ask me. If you do that, you might have to shim the rocker arms to get geometry back in spec.

IMO that is already tight on a street hydraulic setup. (Intake wise)

My old setup was 243 castings with a .010 mill, 2.02 intake valve, a .045 gasket and a TR224. It doesn't sound like it would be close, but I think those valves were what killed the PTVC. I was right within spec on that setup and was planning on a 230ish/234ish cam with more compression so I milled .080 to be safe.

In the end I have a 230ish/234ish 111LSA +2 cam, 11.2:1 SCR (.024 milling), a .045 gasket, and my PTVC was about 260 thousands on the intake and about 210 on the exhaust.

I've got the 5.3/MS3 combo with 2.02/1.57 valves and TSP said no flycutting was required so I didn't. They also said it would be fine on spray
