Question What is the Oil Capacity in a 6.0 408?

I have been stumped since my 408 was put in my car.I am using my old LS1 oil pan.Is the Dip stick tube in the same location(Height wise)? Because my LS1 used to hold 5.5 quarts and Now my 408 holds 6 quarts????I asked my engine builder and he said it should be the same as my LS1 because its the same pan.I cant see where the dipstick tube goes in to see if its down all the way.I was smelling oil consumption when on the full mark but now that I am down to between full and add marks I am not smelling it now...What do you guys think?
Thank for the input

Other than the stock GM LS1 block that you used the pan and dip stick from, what block are you using now.. what else was changed ? are you sure that the tube is fully seated into the block ? If the block are physically the same and the tube is seated..

Then I would just drain it on the next oil change, fill it with 4 qt's. measure and mark the stick and then add the 5th qt and mark again. and if needed the 5.5 or 6th qt. just take your time to make sure it the oil is fully drained into the pan before you measure and remember that a empty oil filter does take up some oil once it is started.
