Default Update on tapping/clanking when engine warms up.

About 2 months ago after I came from the track I noticed a tapping noise that seemed to be coming from the top passenger side of the motor. If the car was cool there would be no noise but when it warmed up the noise would come. I checked all the valvetrain componets and they seemed fine. I came to the conclusion that it was a bad lifter. So I brought Livernois stage 1 heads and LS7 lifters and installed them. After I finished I started the car up and once it warmed up same sound. So I said forget I'll drive it till it blows. Well last night it blew so the tapping had to be a slightly spun bearing that was waitng to fully spin. So it decided to fully spin last night. So I just wasted money on gaskets and bolts that I am going to have to buy again.

Did you have oil pressure issues before the bearing spun? Be sure to address that problem if you were starving for oil before you start the engine after the rebuild.

I have some GM head gaskets and head bolts that I bought before my 408 and now they won't work for me. Don't really need em now. If you could use them, lemme know. And the engine letting go is just an excuse to go forged

Anyone know why I would have metal and a pool of oil in my intake?
