Default opinions please

I was thinking of going witht the LS1 Hotcam, budget reasons, when I came across this and I'm not sure which one would be better. I want to be in the 370-400 rwhp range cam only. It's the Patriot billet camshaft 226/226 .585/.585 lift on a 112 lsa and comp cams ls1/ls6 valve springs (good to .600) from new era perf. together the cam and springs would be closely priced to the gmpp hotcam kit. Eventually I would like to throw a 100 shot at it, but just cam only for now. I want a noticible idle and power well below 6500. I def want people to know there's a cam in there. Opinions please.

That cam might get you to 370, but they dont usually make it anywhere near 400. The cam has a long history of having more bark than bite.

My cam is a 224/226 and made 374/361 with a nice flat curve. Not a big cam by any means but great for a DD which I use it as, and it's got a nice lumpy idle, 111LSA. Graph is on my fquick page or internal section.

I'm retarded and got sidetracked, and thought I had read the whole thing... I think youre way better off with the patriot cam vs. the Hotcam. And youll probably hit your goal pretty easily. I guess right in the middle of the range you said. Its not gonna shake like a paint mixer though...

Sorry for the confusion. I totally dropped the ball on that one.

It's cool and I think it's a good deal, I just don't know about the valve springs, they should be able to handle that cam.

You said comp cams... You mean 918's? The earlier 915's? Some iffy stories about comp lately...

It dosnt say the model, but adding to cart displays the SKU: 2691816, which along withthe pictured "blue stripe" leads me to believe these are 918's. Like I said, the 918's have been having issues with a lot of breakages lately, but until recently these springs would have been a good match. I would coonsider a set of gold dual springs. Theyre a bit more than you need, but theyre not terribly expensive, and they offer the redundancy (safety) of a dual spring.
