MTI's R1 on a 112 has seemed to work pretty well on their 382 pkgs. Usually make about 470-480 rwhp.

The best cam would be the one in my ARE big-bore motor, but unfortunately it's not for sale, and I won't disclose the specs unless you have ultra-super-duper-top-secret clearance!

Well I would suggest going with the biggest cam you can, because if you plan to steet race your only going to be good from a roll unless you're on ET streets or drags; I found this out real quick in my 388. I lost traction from a roll in second with 315 road race tires in the rear (stickier than BFG's), RT torque arm at a -2 pinion agnel, and boxed LCA's. I steet raced a lot with my heads/cam and I would only lose traction in first if I mashed from 5mph. FWIW my cam isn't top secret I made 487 rwhp on stock injectors with no tuning with my 243/250 .610/612 114 lsa cam. A smaller cam will give you more low end torque(but you will already have way to much of that for the steet anyway) so I suggest going big.

Im just going for the smooth sounds of the MTI X1 (230/227 on a 112) but on a 114 LS. Im all about driving on the street with some time at the road track. Did you have a H/C/headers setup before? What did you like about previous cams in stock ci? You cant tell someone what cam they want until they know what you are looking for. Linear Velocity and I both are gettign essentially the same motor, but we are going to be happy with far different cams.

Good thing is that for most of us, a new cam is 400$ plus about a 3 hour relaxing time in the garage one night. So Im not worried about being off a little.

In all honesty, it's impossible to just pick a "best cam."

You have ARE heads, right? Personally, I'd call Wade and left him make a recommendation. They came up with the specs for my cam, and I'd have to say they did a fine job in doing so.

But you forgot the most important part: You don't possess the "need to know." :p

Thank you all for your replys....

I have ARE S2 heads but i want to sell it and
build a new 382ci ALL-BORE, so i will send e-mail to Wade and tell him to gave me a complete long block with agoo cam

I think i will go with the biggest cam i can or
go with solid roller cuz i want my car for street racing (about 600m or 800m) and drag racing in the same time
