Default patriot 5.3 or tsp prc 5.3 heads

My setup is in my sig, i was wondering if i need to get new rocker arms if i buy new heads and if the stock valve covers work, i now i probably sound like a big idiot but i dnt know, and also which company makes a better head im trying to buy the heads in the next couple of days just trying to figure out a few more things b4 i make the order, im going with the stock head bolts, either the patriot or the prc 5.3 heads, still nto sure what head gasket to run any suggestions

I would use Cometic .040 to increase compression and better quench.

TSP was great with me when I ordered my 5.3l heads. They even milled them at no extra charge and I was on a group purchase. They got them out a day later & they arrived flawless. The PRCs flow better than the Patriots also

I would buy the PRC heads.Patriot heads do not come close to what the PRC heads can flow or make in power.TSP's customer service is just as good as Patriot's.Plus they don't have to give away free **** when something goes wrong.

The only way to prove that is to buy 2 identical sets (from each company) and do an independant wet test. All this without telling them what it is for so they don't massage the heads more than they would a production unit

I dont think you could go wrong with either choice, they are gonna be within a couple of hp of each other.I chose the TSP heads along with a ms3 and a fast 90/90 setup, and with these changes over my old 224/581 cam i went from running 11.70-11.80 too running 10.70-10.80 on a GOOD day.I also took about 250 lbs out of the car.So 3/4 of a second from the heads cam and intake setup, pretty dam good IMO!!GOOD LUCK!

You can get into the 11's with the right suspension on a cam only car so your really not saying much. Patriot is far away the better company for customer service. They are also a dedicated head builder, which makes a difference. Take a loook at the thread were someone on here buys a set of used Patriots and Gunnar give them the once over and re-freshed them for free NO OTHER vendor has done that to the best of my knowledge. Its not just about how much a head flows at .600 lift. Took me a while to learn that.
