Felpro head gasket VS Cometic - help
My Cometics did not seal on #1 cylinder, between the combustion chamber and the water jacket. All the other cylinders have a clear "o" ring witness mark.
I did a search and found that the Felpro, P/N 1040 is a recommended replacement, but would like to know who sells them and and their specs. What are their thickness and are installed dry or with a gasket sealer/compound.
Thanks,

C5,
The Fel-Pro's normally have a .043 compressed thickness. I used 1041's on my solid roller motor. They had a 4.135" bore with the above thickness. IMHO, a great gasket. When I pulled the heads, the gasket looked as if I could re-use it. Also, they should be installed DRY.

so the felpro part # 1040 is the headgasket replacement for stock bore blocks? if so, thats the head gasket i've been waiting for. I really dont want to use stock GM headgaskets for a motor using lots of nitrous.

BTW, Nasty Performance (supporting vendor) had the 1041's in stock.

You have to copy & paste the whole thing, DO NOT click the link. The board wont make it a whole link. I can see the catalog with all the part numbers.
