Default Car smoking after cam install

Well, we got done installing the cam and then started the car and then it was smoking real bad, so I just thought it was cleaning out the motor. A buddy of mine went on HP-Tuners, gave the car a good idle tune, a perfectly stable idle at around 875.. Made sure the car was running as stoich as possible.. so I'm driving it around and there is still a good bit of blue smoke coming out of the back of the exhaust.. And my car didn't do this before the cam install.

Mine does not smoke what so ever with a cam. Beyond personal experience I cannot tell you what the normal behavior is, unfortunately.

my first f-body(WS6) smoked too with a cam. I'd say get a catch can to help stop it or get rid of the PCV system & use breathers on each valve cover

blue smoke is most likely bad valve stem seals, did you change the entire valvetrain or just cam-only?

Yea I have smoke on cold starts and while it idles (when cold) but ti goes away when I drive the car around (warms up) and very little smoke at idle. I think the little bit of smoke is no cats and not tuned
but I think the vavle seals need to be replaced

Okay, I was just wondering because the car did not smoke before, and about the seals i think the valve spring kit came with new ones and they where installed, but we did remove all the egr, and there is no filters on the valve cover yet, do you really think that could be the cause? I was thinking about putting an oil with a different weight in it instead of 5w30, cause it really doesn't smoke that bad and it isnt running rich or lean it's just smoking, Like I said the car is somewhat tuned to idle good with a decent a/f. Theres an F-body specialist around here i'm going to take it to on monday see what his diagnosis is, but until then do you think i should just change the oil and see if that does anything?

after my cam install it smoked for a while . It stopped after about 20 min of run time . I think its just the new valve seals seating .

Your car should not smoke at all from a cam install. Find out if new seals were installed and tell us does it smoke on acceleration, deceleration, both, start up, etc.

Was it just a cam, or was anything else done aside from EGR removal.

What cam was installed?

im thinking the valve seals may not have seated properly, are you losing oil? are the plugs fouling?

It smokes at idle, doesn't stop. It smokes while driving, doesn't stop. Smokes at WoT, doesn't stop.. And it's been about 2 days since it was installed.

However, when we did remove the plugs they looked like trash..
