Just got my sonic results...need advice???
I have a 6.0L block, and am planning on doing a 4.060 bore. The sonic results show that there is enough material on the thrust sides, but the pin sides are a little thin. Should I try to get another block and sonic test again, or deal with the one I have. Sorry I don't have exact numbers. I just got of the phone with the machine shop. Anyone have numbers on wall thickness after a 60 over bore? TIA

I have the same problem. Many 6 liter blocks seem to have this problem. I just picked up a brand new 6.0 block from GM and it sonic tested thin also.

The extra .030" bore isn't going to net you very much at all in terms of HP, so why not stay with a 4.030" bore for safety/strength, and leave yourself room for a few cleanup bores (~.010") in the future?

George is right, LS1 valve centerlines are set so bore shrouding is not an issue especially with 4.0" or larger bores. There is more power to be had with thicker cylinder bores(better ring seal) by far than few extra cubes from .030" extra bore size. What was your sonic check readings? .200" was considered good on a cast iron SBC.

There is a real simple solution. Call ARE http://www.agostino-racing.com/ Tell them what you want, they should be able to hook you up. The block will be checked before it is shipped to you. Good luck.
