ARE Z/28 589 RWHP N/A
The Camaro is alive! It is BADASS!!! 3 Preliminary dyno tests pulled 589RWHP @ 7100rpms and 540rwtq on the downslope as we couldn't get our dyno pickup to catch it in time. We haven't played with timing or a/f curves as it was late so we didn't get a chance to play with it.
It has many new parts ARE has devolped over the winter:
ARE Intake manifold
ARE Cam Grind
ARE C5R Heads
ARE Re-Sleeved 422
ARE Stepped Headers
This car made this with a Moser 9" rearend, Turbo 350 tranny, 28W slicks, and through the 3" mufflers. This is also with COLD plugs, nitrous fuel and a layed back cam! Totally setup for a nitrous hit!
We are going to change plugs and fuel and hope to see over 600RWHP!

WoW!!
That is about 100-150 RWHP higher than the LS-6 headed LS-6 intake cars. Great work ARE!
Any comment on the intake? How did the low-end torque look?

We probably won't dyno on the spray as we we're having problems last year dynoing the spray. Its getting a little to violent... Last Year our last dyno figure was 850RWHP and we jetted it up after that but didn't re-dyno it. With the new combo we are expecting that it would make 950-1000 RWHP. We should see some mph results after this weekend.

Wow! Sounds awesome, guys!
Sounds like Wade has a real monster on his hands now (as if it wasn't before)! I can't wait to hear some shakedown testing results.

The motor has the same cam as last year, and the curve of both the torque and HP are the same, just higher up on the graph. We we're a little shocked to see the same curve patern, so it must be the cam?. We have a bigger cam here that we will put in the engine at a later date and maybe play with the intake also later on.

Nitrous fuel has more octane so it is harder to burn and burns slower untill it makes enough heat, which can't be made on the motor alone. The change of fuel and spark plugs should get 20rwhp.

If folks hadnt noticed, the custom intake was necessary due to the C5R heads.
Fancy sounding motor... all the trick stuff. We'll be seeing similar motors from other vendors soon as well. Great power, but it wouldbe very interesting to see the graph.
