Default ls1 lifter install...

i searched and searched ...theres a oil hole on the side of the stock lifters...does the hole get installed up towards the intake or down towards the piston?

all of my stock lifters were faced up. this is how i will put my new lifters in but most agree it doesn't matter either way.

Well guys you can only install the lifters one way. The roller has to be on the cam lobe. If you try to flip it over your gonna have big problems. And the flat sides need to run toward the front end for the lifter trays to fit back over the new lifters.

They only fit one way in the trays and it doesnt matter what side the hole is on. I used the "LS7" lifters and they had the holes on the sides if i remember correctly......

^^ Thats basically what I said too. I also just install the LS7 lifters.

yea the roller tip goes in the block got that, now theres an oil hole on one flat side, and no hole on the other flat side... which way did they come from the factory?

like i mentioned earlier, all of mine were pointing to the front of the car from the factory.

the hole doesnt point front or rear, it can point up or down?

the holes on a hydraulic lifter dont matter which way they are installed, they just take in oil from the galleys and pump up the lifter...thanks everybody.
