Default Bad Smell When Idling At A Stop Light

Ever since i had my cam installed, i have had a terrible exhaust smell at idle. I know, i have no cats LOL. but wow, it jsut smells like pure fuel. But actually at idle i am a little lean. SO what gives? What can it be? Would doing somehting with cats actually help?

Let me know. B/C it gets to the point where it will make my eyes water..

No cats and a cam = bigger smell.

No cats= smell.

You probably just didn't notice the stink.

I pity the guy who gets behind your car.

I had lots of fun including two warnings and one ticket, running with no cats (and an "X" pipe).

Was LOUD, sassy, and stunk.

In my experience, Lean idle usually smells worst than if the fueling is rich or dead on at idle. It is better if you have the fuel as close to stoich as possible. But you will still have some exhaust stink going on there is no escaping it without cats.

You'll have to put your cats back on then.

Little leaks under the car will make it smell much worse in the car and up front. Fix the leaks and you can keep the smell in the back.

Get cats. My cats made the car sound so much better, and yes I had the smell to. At my last apartment I was asked not to leave my car running in the garages even with the door open in the winter because I would stink up everyones garage when they went to theirs. I do not miss it.
