Stock Heads (806,853,241) Enough Difference To Matter?
Here is a question that you may can answer. How much real performance is their to be had between the 806/853 and 241 heads? I mean is it really worth it for me to spend an extra $150 by the time everything is all said and done just have the 241's. I'm gonna have to buy valve covers and coil pack brackets and thats gonna run me an extra $100 right there when I could just find some 806 castings like I have. I mean hell you had 853's and I had 806's with basically the same mods and we ran basically the same quartermile. Do you really think when it comes to stock heads I should worry about the casting number?
I can get a 40k set off a 98 c5 for 110 shipped to my door or I have a guy in Austin that has a completley assembled set of 241's with 22k on them for 150 picked up but then I will have to spend a total of $250 for the rest (covers, brackets). So would it be worth it for me to just stick with 806's since were talking stock heads?

the main difference is the 241s are cast a lil smoother once lightly ported theres no difference....on to your question no you wont notice any power with the 241s.....243s yes but not 241s

i never got it. I got the one about your heads and replied and saw you checked it but never got a response. I think im gonna go ahead and buy the 806's and with the money I saved get them milled and then slap them on and see how it does. No big deal to me just a Saturday wasted on my car instead of on the couch
