Just curious to see if anybody has broke one? If so, how did it happen?

I broke two. They let loose with about 2000 miles on them.

I went ahead and got a new batch and replaced them all with a set from a different batch. I currently have about 10,000 miles on the set currently in my car and will be checking the pressures on them within the next few weeks to see if they are weakening any. If they have weakened any, I plan on putting on another set.

FWIW. My original batch of springs that broke were produced in the same timeframe as all of the Comp 918's were breaking left and right.

and you have an advantge with the dual springs because overy pic that ive see of a broken dual spring, the inside spring is still in one piece. there for its enough to limp the car home spinning low rpm's depending on how far you have to go.

Thanx for the info guys, I guess it would be smart to upgrade either way since there is alot less of a chance of dropping the valve w/ a dual spring!

The only instance I have personally seen of a broken REV dual spring involved breaking both the outer AND the inner springs. Perhaps when the outer let loose, it twisted in such a way that a piece of it was able to get "inside" the coils on the inner spring, which in turn caused it to coil bind, which in turn caused it to break in three places.

Or perhaps I am full of crap. All I know for sure is that both inner and outer were thoroughly trashed.

I'm planning on getting these springs for my cam 230/230 .591/.591 110 LSA. After how many miles should I change them?

I think I would cut down the lift with that cam some. Yes the springs can take it but its no reason to go that high of a lift when you dont really need to. .585 or even .580 would be good, but thats just my opinion.
