Default New project begins, 408

Here what I'm starting with. I pick up the car next week that its going in. Its my old 2001 Z28 A4 car I bought new and sold to my mom about 4 years ago.

6.0L iron block

L92 heads

L76 intake

dont think Im going to be able to do the turbo on it so I ordered a 4.0" Eagel crank and 6.125" Eagle rods. Still have to order the pistons, probably Diamonds, .030 and around 11:1 CR with about a 200 plate wet shot on top of that.

Yeah, no way you'll make 600hp on an accurate dyno. Especially on 11:1 compression and with the L76 car intake. They fall off way too early. You'd need to seriously spin that motor to get anywhere near 600hp. Plus probably have to dyno at one of those shops in Texas that thinks they're on a mountain.

500 is way closer to what that motor will push with 11:1 and not reving the crap out of it. but it will be a beast with that 200....or 250 shot =) do a two stage 250shot..my buddy shot a 150 then a few hundred rpm's after he added the 100. that was on his 350 =) that was with a direct port system.

500 NA through GM heads and a GM intake that falls off at 6300 sucks? I think you suck. LOL! j/k

But you're right, you'd be best back on the GN boards.

yeah, I dont mean the engine sucks, but take it as you will with your "go somewhere else comment". Im just thought it would make a bit more than that considering the GN made 460/550 on a small TE44 turbo, stock cam, stock heads, and rotating assembly, block and 2 less cylinders.
I've been into my share of these engines too, 4 h/c swaps and owned an 01 Z A4, 01 Z M6, and an 05 GTO M6.

We installed an LME 408 with Fast90/90 set up and made a custom x-pipe for the dual cut outs , plumbed up 2 stages of nitrous and the car made 550 rwhp 489 rwtq N/A and 845 rwhp and 770 rwtq on both stages .
Straight from New Era Performance website.

http://www.neweraperformanceparts.com

P.S. I've personally heard this car run and it sounds like the world is coming to an end

It was called a "joke". See, that's why the LOL and the j/k. So you'd know the mood is joking.

The thing is like I said, you're using an intake that won't let you spin high enough to make tons of horsepower. Pretty simple concept. If you want more, switch to heavily worked LS7 heads and an LS7 intake. Or heavily worked ETP/TFS/AFR heads and a sheet metal intake. That'll open her up for ya if you just want HP numbers.

track times are what Im after, HP dont mean squat if it cant run a number, ya know. The Buick came full on below 4K rpm, different engine I know, and the turbo helps out a ton, which was my original plan for this, maybe I should revert back to plan A. Boost. But, I probably wont for now anyway

Oops, I didnt see the LOL.
My fault, thought you were trying to run me off
