Default HP gains on thinner oil

Would there be any hp gain from switching to 5W 30 from 10 W 30?

Probably a little but you may encounter piston slap as a result of runing the thinner oil.

none that you would notice. But I run 0W-30, and it's good stuff.

dude the oil is just to lubricate the engine thats it

the only diffrence between synthic oils like 5-30w or 10-30 its the cold start, and the 5-30 will last more longer

Not too sure about that, dude. Pumping a thinner oil shouldn't rob as much hp. Any hp freed up should be delivered to the wheels. The question is: how much hp.

the first number only specifys thickness at cold temperatures. The second number is the thickness at operating temp. Theyre both 30 weight oils and therefore will perform similarly.

Now we all know that M1 runs on the thin side, and it may well produce a couple extra HP, but it will also smoke more, allow more blow-by, and will not protect your engine as well.

Still trying to make the car faster I see. Face it man, you cant drive Just get some practice or some better tires at least.

If you're so convinced, why are you even asking? Get to googling and learn what the numbers on the bottle mean.

come on man i dont belive this

i dont think oil will reduce any HP , if it so how much? 1 HP more or less??

if more i think your engine is runing on lemon jucie not GAS

just try to imagine how powerfull the engine stroke fire, i dont think there is a chance for the oil to hold up the pistons from flying up when you floor it(if you are using GAS ofcourse)

no offence just kidden

There is more power to be had by controlling oil than changing to another oil. But like all other mods, it isn't cheap. Try keeping the oil off the crank with a crank scraper or something like that.

Thin oil will make more power. Before qualifying, Nextel Cup teams will use thinner engine oil for that extra HP advantage. Then swich back to thicker oil for the long 400-500 mile endurance race.
