Default Oil pressure gauge.. Stuck at 100psi….

I turn the key and the gauge is pegged(with the engine not even running) … The only thing different is, I installed a new sending unit because old one broke after motor removal… Is it common for the sending units to fail??

I think if its broken it should be pegged, it its at 0 it should be unplugged or not working properly.

Do you have any tuning software to see if the sending unit is working and sending an oil pressure value? Maybe its the cluster

Corvettes are constantly breaking their sensors. My neighbors did the same as you describe. I put a new one in, and it did the same thing 2 weeks later.

I made a thread about it in the 'vette section, others confirmed my suspicions. Some people have gone so far as to relocate the sensor with some tubing to fix it. Some people keep going through them constantly, while others don't have problems.
