Question CAM Vote- HELP & ADVICE needed

Hey guys im building my engine and i wanna throw in a cam but im confused which 1 its either .224 224 .581 .581 114 or 224 232 .581 .595 114
i have limited options because of my stock automatic tranny
btw i just bought diamond 3.95 flat pistons & 150 dry nitrous so which cam is more suitable for the nitrous ? and its a daily use car

thanx guys appreciate it.

always when you consider to use nitros the best cam choise will be the cam with more exhaust duration and lift.

so the 224-232 is the best choise or simillar cams .

good luck (and dont worry about the tranny it can handle it)

If those are the two your are considering youll be fine with the 224/232. its a better cam for the nitrous but youd eb fine with either one.

dont worry man am shure because

i have an A4 and i have try to many cams option and i have 150 nos since 3 years now,and its my DD

let me tell you my cams journy i started with :

comp 216-220 525 535 114
TR 224-224 563-563 114
now g5x3 (specs not released) but i think is 232-242 on 114

so i never had a tranny problem with all those and i tryed nitros
on all of these cams . and it all based of the tuner to make your cam DD.

so go for the 224-232 i really like that cam spec it will give you more peak HP than 224-224 so you can rev more.

yes its worth it if you are not gonna go for FAST intake with 90mm.
plus you need a good ram air and you will feel amazing throttle response plus more 10 hp on the dyno.

Dry kit my fiend I prefer going on 100 shots because 150 is allot for a dry kit but why don't you
my advice (I know that you will not listen to me) if you want to go on a 150 shot go with wet kits

why the wet kit for only 150 shot ??? there is a vette here in the form has

633HP and 600TQ DRY KIT the shot is more 250 of dry?

so dry or wet doesnt matter just do it proper way .

and you recommend the 224 for what reason???

the 224-232 has the same street manners plus little ponies on the top rpm.

if you choose somthin try at least to explain so all of us can understand why.

the TCI tranny mean overhaul kit the kit include (clutches, bands, steels, valve body upgrades, servo, shift kit...i dont know wht else) anyway the part number is 378951 pro super kit.
and for a stall i have fuddle racing 3400,you can check yank and VIG too.
for your setup i would have a stall around 3600 or so.

and for the nitros instaliation its verey easy any work shop can do that but for the nosels place you can put it any where before the maf (on the air box would be fine) but not after the MAF the dry kit needs the MAF readings so the COMPUTER will add more fuel.

well the reason is pretty simple.
smooth idle!
i know the 224/232 cam very well and i've seen it in action but Miji wants to buy a cam with a smooth idle. like this car http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gd6u4i-pFNc
so if you have have a 224/232 idle sound we'll be more than happy to listen cause it will determain weather he is going to buy it or not
Thanks

smooth idle ? cant you see the diffrences between those cams miji mention
it doesnt has much diffrences. for the idle smothness the LSA is the thing to look for, the change between lift and duration will change the idle slightly but the LSA will make it all diffrence like between 114 and 110 .

i had a TR224 before on 114 and it was smooth like what you mention then i swaped to g5x3 it had 234-242 but on 114 LSA the car idle verey nice after tuning its simillar to the 224 but little bit choppy .

so for idle smoothness and DD there is two major things to look for LSA and GOOD TUNER its all based on the tuner.

thnx for the info anyway

thanx guys
i think i`ve decided on the 224/232 . and the tranny kit.+618 spring kit + pro magnum lifters and that sounds enough to handle the power + good tuning
thanx for the time & advice

I have to agree, unless you are planning on a set of bigger injectors as well.
