Default can i hit 400?

i cracked a piston so im gunna yank the motor out and just replace the piston and just hone the cylinder i dont have the money for a new engine so while my heads are off there 241 heads im gunna have them ported do i think id hit 400rwhp with the ported heads and these mods 2000 Red t/a a4 mods: 3500 stall, 3.73's , 224/224 112 ,underdrive and altenator pulley, pacesetter longtubes and offroad y, magnaflow exhaust, qtp electric cutout, lid, ported and polished throttle body, 160 thermosthat,and free mods

well you should get near that at least . but dont forget to mill the heads u can hit the 400 with milling , plus you have A4 + 3.73 + stall all these fact of reduceing power on the dyno but in return you will have what you ask for on the street

i think you will. im running p/p 241 heads and the 228r cam and hope to bust 400rwhp wide open

at lest 375 i think if you mill the heads and port them you'll get close

thanks the heads are at the machine shop to pressure test them to see if there cracked now i dont know alot abput milling so can someone totally exlplain it to me and if anyone knows a good place that does it and around about how much id cost ???????????????????thanks

your local machine shop should be able to mill them for you. i mill job is where they take material off of the decks(bottom of head that contacts the gasket) i would take off .015- .020 thou off or so,i can't remember exactly how many thousandths it takes to remove 1 cc,probably .005-.006 but a .020 shave should get your scr up .4 tenths of a point or so.

Rob, you blew your motor from detonation aha, avoid milling. You'll hit 370 on your setup, and that's plently. You will get an amazing street car out of it.

no way ull get 400 with a cam that small. i got an 01 ss that makes 396hp and 387rwtq with cam and bolt on but mine is a six speed . my cam specs are 231/237 590/595 lift 112 lsa.with a bigger cam and ported heads on an A4 then yea i could see a lil over 400. look into a speed inc. cam my buddy has a formula with the same cam ive got on an A4 with a 3200 stall electric cut out and stock heads runs high 11.9 all day.

Not every car responds the same to mods just becouse your car wont do it doesnt mean no one elses car can. Id say he willl be around the 375-390 if he gets the heads done right and with a good tunner!

Just get an MS3 cam and be done with it. People making 400+ cam only.

With an automatic I dont see it happening with a small 224 cam. Good Luck though

My car did 399 cam only with a TR230 cam. ~400 wheel cam only isn't that hard to reach, quite a few have done it already.

There is plently of people getting 400 rwhp w/ the TR224 cam. Unfortunately I wasn't one of them but on the track and street it had real big bite. You can see my times on the 1/8mi. I also had TR224 and 241 heads. I ported and milled them. I milled .035 and never any issue. I used MLS gaskets. I made 360rwhp and 336 rwtq w/ with a unlocked TC. Excellent street cam.
