Default LS1tech + LS1howto = BEST!!

Just wanted to thank all of you, this site, and LS1howto for not only giving me the confidence to try my first cam swap, but also the knowledge.

I justswapped in my TR224 and 918s last weekend and with all the help it was quite literally the smoothes work I've ever done on the car. I've now got over 150 miles on the new cam and everything looks really good so far (well I do have a small oil leak from the pan, but I think I fixed that today). Car runs really nice and actually fired right up after the swap. I'm going to the track Saturday to see what it will do, but I'm not expecting great results as I'm still on stock manifolds, converters, intake, and tune. Regardless the car really gets up to redline a lot quicker and I'm thrilled with the fact I was able to do it myself.

Thanks again!!!

Congrats on your first cam swap! It's a great feeling knowing you did the work yourself. I agree, this site and ls1howto.com are great sources for ls1 knowledge.

Thanks, and oh yea a special thanks to 99BlancoSS for renting out his cam swap tools. Great deal for $40, JPR lifter tool, Harmonic balancer install tool, pushrod length checker, Crane dual valve spring tool, and even the spark plug air fitting to pressurize the cylinder for the spring swap.

Thanks 99BlancoSS!

Congrats, that was the combo that helped me too. Tech, howto, 99blanco, and Predator living on the other side of the world so he was up to answer my lame PMs when everyone else was sleeping Great feeling when everything works good isn't it?

Those two websites were my ultimate guides during my first cam swap. That, and dozens of cool people on this board. Cheers to all of you !

Definately before you take it to the track. Why risk blowing it up when you have to tune it any way?

Ok you win, I won't track it till it's tuned. Sadly though I am deploying here in about two weeks so no time for a tune so, I guess I'll have to wait 7-months before I find out if twelves are in the cards.
