Default Valve spring installed height

I'm installing a set of Comp Cams 918 springs and need a little more installed height. Using the stock retainers the installed height of the springs is about .760. I need to know how to get the height up a bit as there are no extra shims under the springs. Can I get offset keepers, if so who makes them adn which ones do I need?

Thanx

Did you measure that with or without the located? Installed height should be 1.800. Are you saying you are at 1.760? If so I believe the stock locaters are either .040 or .060.

Do you have the integrated seals on your car or did you take them off and replace them with just a seal?

what cam? You can get away with installing them at 1.750" if you're running .600" lift or less. I actually recommend it if you have aggressive lobes.

If the're gonna break because you got a bad batch that will happen no matter where you install them.

Running a MTI Stealth II with .581 Lift on both. The springs were rated at .600 lift and with the lower installed height I figured I'm about .020 short. By the springs specs I still have about .080 till coil bind. Am I OK??

I've got the stock valve stem seals. They seem to be one with a spacer the valve spring sits on.

None of the springs setup at 1.800, even the stock ones. I think you are fine with your current installed height, as long as your cam isn't too aggressive.

Define too aggressive.

I'm running a MTI Stealth II with .581 lift.

If you are .060 from coil bind that is perfect. Some of the more aggressive cams require shimming the springs .050 from coil bind to get the most open pressure possible.

Install them at 1.750" and you'll be golden.

The real coil bind number for a 918 is around 1.080.

I know it's not an aggerssive cam compared to what many of you run. But none the less, I only want to put this together once. And don't want any problems I can avoid.
