Default 224 or 228 or bigger ??

I am looking into getting a cam for my DD. I have the mods in my sig and am planning on getting the future mods in my sig before the cam but was wondering what cam would make the MOST POWER. If anybody has any sound clips of those cams or cams that you think would be good post em up ! I have looked around for some clips but have not found very many... PLEASE HELP...thanks

I think I have the exact same cam as you @ 228/232 111 +1 XER. Good to hear you like it. I did alot of research and decided on the specs myself. I just got done installing it along with a set of dart heads, .040 cometics, pacesetters, LS6 intake, pulley and bigger injectors. Spent today getting it to idle. It idles good and you can tell it has a cam in it but it's not so outrageous that I wouldn't daily drive it. Which is what I wanted. I think it's going to be a great street setup.

I have a Comp XR277HR 224/228 cam that was from my old 346 combo. Will sell it for a reasonable price. The cam makes good power, 2000 - 6800 rpm range and it is very streetable . PM me if your interested.

Chef, I'm thinking about going back with that 224/228 cam as I had one a few years back. What are the rest of the specs on yours? I believe mine was 224/228 581/581 112+2 XER, not for sure and don't know the grind #.

you definitely can never go wrong with a 224 cam for sure. its proven itself so many times as a good street, daily driver cam!! but i would also take a look at the patriot 226 cam.. i like what i have been seeing out of that cam...

228/232 110 LSA. You won't regret it from what I've seen.

for a DD thats not looking to be the fastest track car but be a great street car a 224/228 cam is a great choice. I put down 452rwhp and 408rwtq with ported and milled 241 heads threw a 12 bolt with 4.30 gears and a heavy driveshaft with that cam. My numbers would have been even better with the stcok rear. There have been many that haven't made as much going with a bigger cam . My car has a stock idel and drives great on the street. But there are so many new cam designs that make more . I did my H&C in 2003 . My combo makes great power but I'm tired of it and going with a huge DD cam to get the most out of it at the track

224 112 here. My first LS1 cam and chose this because I read how great it is etc so I went with it. Its true its a great LITTLE cam and makes good power. Driveability? Well I guess I was afraid of the big lift of LS1 cams in general comparing to sbc's vs radical'ness if you will. This cam is sooooo mild I could handle a way bigger cam for DD use its very driveable and fuel efficient too. That being said I dont believe its nec to go huge so if I could do it over I'd get 224/228 or a 230 ish cam. I dont think it would be undrivable at all.

i love my 224/228 cam on a 110+2 LSA....Lift is .581/.588 so its not a v.spring killer. I see you are going with a 3200 stall, this cam would be Ideal with your setup!
