Default H/c swap coming soon a couple Q's?

I will be doing tsp package stg 2.5 prc 5.3 heads with Torquer V3. Can I use my stock injectors or do i need to upgrade? Which head gaskets should i use? the gm gaskets TSP sells in the h/c package or should i get COMETIC .40 gaskets?

I'm planning on the same setup. Motor is tore down just waiting to order heads. You will need to upgrade your injectors. The Ford SVO 30s will do nice. They are good up to 500 HP. Me personally, I'm using the GM Gaskets. I think things will be a little too close using a thinner gasket and those heads. TSP will point you in the right direction when you order.

Where did you get your injectors>? Seems like a lot of people are doing this setup.

I think I saw a set in the classified section a few days ago for a good price . Since injectors are a little pricey some folks justgo ahead and do 42lb or even 60lb depending on if you spray and or future plans .

I run Racetronix 32#'ers with a very similar setup. SVO 30's would work as well.

Tip: Have your heads flowed before installing them.

While the engine is apart go ahead and do whatever to make good solid reliable power. This means Cometic .040"s.

looks like a lot of people are running stock injectors with a h/c setup. What is the benefit of upgrading if it is not necessary?

You can get away with stock injectors being "cam only", but it's really pushing them going heads/cam. You don't want to stretch things too much in the duty cycle. The Ford SVO 30s, I am told, are actually around 36 lbs for our cars. Speed Inc sells the SVO 30s. http://www.ls1speed.com

I have the same heads with a torquer 2 and I run stock injectors. The max they get to on duty cycle is 75% so they're just fine. I asked texas speed about the head gaskets and they said that the cometic gaskets are good for a just a few ponies and mostly for the people who are chasing every hp.

well you have those little 26 lb. injectors before they upgraded in 01. i'd say go ahead and upgrade to a 30 or 32 lb. as far as head gaskes, i'd just order the stock ones from TSP. i just did a h/c on my car and that's what i used.

The head gasket isnt gonna really net you more power persay, but a thin gasket results in tighter quench area, which will help the air/fuel mix to burn more evenly for a clean burn and it will also aid in knock prevention. So in an indirect way the head gasket will have an affect on performance.
