Default Head gasket question. Need help!

I have prc 5.3 heads on my Camaro. the block is a 5.7 LS1. I bought a new head gasket for it but I was about to put in on and noticed it said 5.7 on the gasket. Is this the right gasket? I got the gasket for a 2002 Camaro. I just want to make sure its right before I put it on.

Also another question. I had to take the head off because I broke one of the valve cover bolts in it. I took the head off so I could take it to the machine shop. The new gasket I bought is metal. The old gasket was not metal. Does it matter that one is metal and the other is not? or do I need to change both?

The old gaskets came from Texas-Speed. The new one came from GM dealer. I would have called tsp but they were closed. I guess I hold off till tommorow and give them a call.

The head gasket should be right, but the valve cover gasket should be rubber. You should be able to reuse your valve cover gasket as long as there wasn't a sealing problem before. They are reusable, just like the intake manifold gaskets.

yes the valve cover gaskets are rubber, I have them and they are the same.

My main concern is I just figured that the 5.3 and the 5.7 had the same head gasket until I seen the numbers 5.7 stamped on the gasket. I bought the heads last year and got the gaskets from tsp when I got the heads. I don't know if they are 5.3 or 5.7 gaskets. I am not sure if it I need to use 5.7 or 5.3 head gaskets. I didn't want to have 1 5.3 gasket and 1 5.7 gasket being I am only changing 1 side. If they are the same why would it say 5.7? If you use 5.3 heads do you still put 5.7 head gaskets on?

The other question was: is it ok to have 1 metal gasket on one side and 1 non metal gasket on the other side?
