Default Heads/LT make car rich or lean?

I am about to install my heads and Kooks Longtubes on the GTO. I have been wondering if it would be safe to run these mods for a short amount of time before tuning.

Obviously, full power will not be achieved unless properly tuned, but will the new mods make the car run rich or lean?

It should run leaner. You should still be fine for driving it around.

Installing LTs and driving will not hurt it, it will lean it out but I drove mine for almost a year before it was tuned. The heads may be a different story. What heads are you going with? They may change your compression ratio enough to make it difficult to drive.

The heads are TSP stg. 2.5 5.3L heads that I originally bought for my Camaro. They should raise compression a little, but I don't think a whole lot.

The answer would be Yes? Headers lean it out. Heads will make it run rich.
