Default Dual valve spring question....

I guess im not exactly sure what the difference is between single and dual valve springs. Im assuming the dual springs are rated at a higher lift?? Do they look different than single springs??

A dual spring is just that, 2 springs, one coiled inside the other. They look different and are typically rated for higher lift.

shows a single on the left, dual on the right.

Duals add another layer of security because the chances of breaking both springs is slim. However, the inner spring is usually quite weak, so you can still very easily get P-t-V contact.

I see. So the TR 230, being a "lower lift" cam, would be safe with single springs. btw its a .575/563.

Some single springs are safer than others!

I run my TR230 on singles. The PAC springs are good.

I like the duals but they do add more mass to the valve train.
