Default Custom Cam Grind off of G5X2...

Ok, this cam sounds NICE and makes an approx. a$$-load of power everywhere, but on a 112, not to A4 friendly w/out tuning. So, if you cut the cam 232/240 .595/.609 115lsa what would happen to the powerband, and would it not be more streetable for an A4 w/out tuning (more of crutch until thorough tuning can be achieved? Thanks Lots. Charlie.

Any cam of that size requires tuning to get the most from it. 115 LSA will not turn that cam into a street friendly cam w/o tuning; not to mention that it will peak really high.

call Lou (LGM) at 1-877-LGMOTOR and he'll answer all your questions about this grind and give you some suggestions as well. He might even grind it for you on a 115 but I wouldn't recommend it.

Dont get me wrong guys, I know tuning will pull out the cams potential. My point was for a smoother idling cam, i.e. more sleeper. As far as tuning, well, most will pick up @10hp, the real benefit to tuning is the idle quality and AF ratio's, which is where you are getting your extra numbers from. I am looking at a cam that will pull @400hp w/ heads,( run mid 360'ish on stock heads, on a budget ya know) and wont kill an A4 until I get it tuned. But I just finished reading about the G5X2 in A4's....So, look like once $$$ is here I will be heading down to my trusty shop for order and install!

Look out Rex, There I go!!!

Last I knew, Lou was planning on having a couple of the G5X2 cams ground on a 114 LSA for F/I applications... it would stand to reason that it WOULD idle a bit smoother, which would help out the A4 cars a bit. However, as it already sits, that cam makes peak power @6400 or so, and spreading out the lobes will move that up a bit... not something that I would be comfortable with on a stock bottom end.

Anyhow, as has already been suggested, give LG a shout (ask to speak to Lou or Louis) and I'm sure that they will be more than happy to provide you with what you're looking for.
