Default 224/230 or 236/242

im thinking of going with a custom grind cam over the 224/230 581/588 114. The custom grind will be 236/242 580/590 on a 112. The increase in duration will lower dcr but will be easier on springs as the ramp rate isnt as steep? Let me know all your input. Thanks in advance.

The Magic Stick 3 is very close to the custom grind you want....

How about more information on your combo...

Head configuration (stock, ported, static comp, flow numbers)
Intake used (FAST, LS6, LS1 etc)
Trans type Manual or auto
Converter stall and STR (if running auto)
Gearing
Raceweight
Intended use (street, strip, both)
Emissions compliance?
Header type
Cats?
Exhaust (catback, true duals)

Would this be fine with stock heads? how would it be dealing with stop and go traffic everyday?

agreed. 228/232 or 232/236 is a better place to begin.

Default Cam

You need a custom cam like a 227/230 LSK/XFI .640"/.605 111lsa +1. It would work great in a stk. head LS1. Just so happens I got a BRAND NEW one, wouldn't fit in my milled AFR headed combo. My heads were 60 cc's with a .038" mill and I only had .060" or so P to V with a .040" gasket and this cam. Really wanted to run it too

Great area under the curve. Peaks around 6400 RPM. Good cammy idle. Lots of torque. It would have a good dynamic compression ratio also.

It would be a good choice.

Make you a helluva deal.

PM me if interested.
