Rattling noise?

Rattling noise? My low oil light came on a few days ago and didnt put any oil into until tonight. I had to use 3 quarts of oil to fill it up. Well I was hearing a rattling noise and figured my exhaust was just loose, not the case, after the oil it still sounds like a pan rattling or something. This didnt happen until the oil light came on. Not sure what it is

3 QUARTS.??????? that is looow. WOW...did some damage I would guess....are you leaking.??? or did u drive it 100,000 miles since last oil change.???
