Default Highest mileage for a cam swap

What is the highest mileage you guys would do a cam swap. I was thinking of buying the oldman cam or TR 220. Something very tame or even the ls6 cam. Do you think my car could handle that kind of abuse. It an A4 with 166xxx miles, gets great oil pressure, and never has missed a maintenance schedule.

Mileage really doesn't matter man, it all depends on what kind of shape everything is in. If I were you, I would replace as much as I could while going in there just to make sure that you get anything that might be a weak link

I'd suggest replacing the oil pump and complete timing set..but I've taken apart 20K mile engines that looked worse than 180K mile engines I've also pulled apart. All depends what condition it's in. If you're nervous about it, you can take a sample of your oil and send it out to be analyzed and that'll hellp you better know how the engine is internally.

do it. i put a tr220 in at like 140,000. i replaced timing chain, oil pump, lifters, gaskets of course. i also put on some stock ls6 heads and comp 918 springs. Now i wish i would have gone bigger, so get the 224 at least..depending on the converter you have.
