Default 377 stroker...every heard of????

i recently spun a rod bearing in my car .....i have been talking to a guy that builds sprint car engines.....and has been for 20 yrs.....he owns the local napa in my town and is very very well respected for machine work and building and etc.....well i just dropped off the block today and he uses eagle products and keith black pistons....well he was really leary about doing a stroker above 383 ci......why is that.....and how come so many parts people dont know what a ls1 is or that it's aluminum......it's kinda like when you call az to get a price on something as little as the spark plugs and tell them it's a ls1.......they are like..... whats that....you mean a lt1......lol anyways......let me know your ideas on this or if you have ever heard of the 377 stroker////and if you would do it....he will be getting a price for me in the next couple of days.....that will make the decision i guess

I believe 377 is old small block combo. Its a 383 just not bored as much.Alot of people dont like doing a motor with more stroke than bore but in your case without going to a 6.0 block I would go 382.You really need to let someone do it that knows LSX stuff. He sounds like a old school small block guy and if your doing a after market stroker do some forged nice pistons and not just some kieth black hyper pistons.

a 377 is 4" bore with a 3.78 stroke aka 350 bore with 400 crank or you can do it 4.125 bore with a 3.48 stroke aka 400 bore with 350 crank which is mainly for 1st gen engines

You would be better off to pay shipping cost and get a motor that is built by someone that knows LSx motors. And don't get those those Keith Black (silvolite) hyperjunk pistons. Those are great for your minivan. But for your perfomance motor, get some Forged pistons.

talk to bryan at LME they shipped my motor yesterday. I got a good price, and shipping is not bad if you can get it sent to a shop or something. I just had him ship it to my buddys shop. and besides you can talk to him about what your goals are and they will build the motor around what YOU need.

Why the hell is everyone so fired up about forged pistons? Are you putting a blower on the car or spraying it? No? Then don't worry about it. Putting forged pistons in an N/A street motor because they're "stronger" is retarded.

But I did it anyways
