I was thinking the same thing, but how much can extra cubes help?

EDIT: I thought a 224 on a 112 is the cam that "barely passes" with a dead on tune.

its the 114lsa with a dead on tune that will pass. I doubt the extra c.i. will help that much especially with the heads and cam hes runnin

And what exhaust are you going to be running? Seems like a big cam for manifolds/shorties with cats.

The goal is 800 rwhp with 16-18 psi. Is there a cam that idles as close to stock as possible that will get me there?
Kenne Bell Should have their CARB# in three months.

Tuned for stock manifolds and cats with very little boost 7psi from the smog legal kenne bell. Then run my American Racing Headers 1 7/8 and B&B bullets for off road use(retune).

I agree it will not pass, but the 224 on a 114 passes pretty easily now the 224 on a 112 is what needs a good tune to pass

if they do any sort of visual inspection you will fail. even if you still have the catalytic convertors on, if they are moved form the stock location, you fail.

If your gonna boost it, you don't need that big a cam. I've seen GNXs running in the 9s with cams in the 205-215 range.

As far as how it will idle... I've got a MTI stealth II with 224/220 on 116LSA and it is scarry how much the idle sounds stock. My MAC mids and BOrla catback do a fine job of covering up the sound of the cam.

I know the LS7 cam is legal, but how much power will I be leaving on the table?

wont pass. I've seen bigger than a 224/224 112 pass, but would not recommend it.

I'd look at something like a 220/232 114 You can use the 219 LSK or 220 XER on the intake. Maybe a 220/236 115.

You aren't leaving that much on the table. You can always add a small shot of NOS.

will the ref pass me Long tubes if i blow clean?

i dont think so because it would be considered modified exhaust and there bitches about it i would like to put a new engine in to replace my ls1 but i pretty sure it would have to blow as clean or cleaner than my stock ls1 which i doubt
