My parents are gonna have a hissy fit...and force me to sell the car...unless I finally figure out whats wrong with it... they changed the SparkPlugs and Wires... yet it still has a horrible missfire... last time the Mechanic checked... #2, 6 and 8...where duds(lots of missfires)... and all but #1 had missfired at least a few times... he changed the wires and the problem went away for all of a coulple of hours... then it stalled out on me (it's Automatic)... and well my next guess would be COILS.. but I'm not sure...

Please if you have any sort of opinion on what it could be let me know... cause I'm desperate... I don't have a JOB yet... and it's all coming out of their pocket... and even if I finally fix it... they might still try to get me to sell it... so...any help will be very apreciated

You need to find out whether it is fuel, ignition, or something mechanically wrong instead of just throwing parts at it. Take it to someone who knows what they are doing for at least a proper diagnosis.

Ditto on checking the fuel side of it. But another, be it unlikely, cause could be a wiring problem. I had a intermitten problem just like the one you're describing that was caused by the wiring harness that runs behind the passenger side head rubbing against the coil bracket and skint about 6 or 7 wires. I could be driving for days with no problem, then BAM! it would start to miss, stall and throw all kinds of codes. Just mt $.02. Might be more than the obvious. Let us know what you find,GOOD LUCK!

put h20 on the coils while the car is running, see if there is any arcing of the coils.

i had this problem, and it's the best way to find it.

Easiest way to test if its the coils would be to swap from side to side. If the misfires move to cyl 1,3,5 its the coils if not its something else.

Are you getting a check engine light? Can anyone around you scan the car to see what the codes are?

I'mma take it today to get scanned... that's how the checked it last time (Snap-On scanner)... they changed the wires and checked the plugs... and tested it again...and it workd fine...no missfires... until I went to drive it in the afternoon... it just stalled...and felt like it was running on only 4 cilinders...

hopefully he can figure out what it is today...

If you can't figure it out, you gotta do what you gotta do, but in my opinion I wouldn't take my bicycle to a garage. I took mine to a GMC dealer for my problems and they looked at for 3 hours, with me watching and thinking 'He's doing everything I've already done' and then told me I would have to leave it for a week. I said nevermind, bought a 3 volume manual set, and fixed myself in a weekend.

I would guess that it could be something along the lines of a fuel pump issue like was said before. Find one of your friends or someone that works on cars that will help you or teach you how to diagnose the problems. That’ll save your parents money and teach you a lesson.

Your O2 sensors can throw your fuel trims out of whack if they go bad, which is not common. If you've got a friend though with a same gen F-body you could swap O2's and see what happens. That would be cheap and easy.

it's not fuel loss..cause it wouldn't bellow Black smoke on some acceleration... it's just not sparking right... first changed the plugs...that lasted all of 2 mins... then the wires...lasted a day...and now I guess it leads to the coils.... if that fails...I'll just keep replacing everything else...LOL

thing's got 50K miles on...of heavy traffic...reall bad roads(pumpy pot-hole ridden)...lots of humidity...and plenty of MASHING... so I would think it was about time for a complete tune up...I mean the plugs where the ORIGINAL factory ones...and the wires... none of it had been changed... it was a Weekend car...until I bought it and it became a daily

and um... I need the car to take me to the job...to get the money...to fix the car... ain't that a bitch...

I'd sell those Euro tail lights for some extra cash. Get a noid light and see if the injecors are working correctly, change your fuel filter, and see where that gets you.

Sounds like its dumping fuel in the cylinders and fouling the spark plugs. Noid light would be real nice. You could pull the fuel rail with the injectors still attached and check the spary pattern of the injectors.

I agree with this guy. Check your crank sensor. Might have to get someone with a tech 2 scanner to do a crank relearn. Or you can sell it to me. I'll give ya 500 bucks LOL........ Get it fixed so you dont have to sell it
