Default 382 w/ MMS 229 v2.1 cam?

I'm looking for some suggestions for idle speed, rev limiter & WOT shift points for a 382 with an MMS 229 v2.1 cam in an A4 with a Vig 3200 converter.

Suggestions anyone???

Thanks,
FRPTech

I think that cam may be a bit small for a 382. You arent really going to know your shift points, limiter, etc.. until you get it on a dyno and see where the powerband ends up -- it will not be the same obviously as running that cam on stock cubes. I am running a 232/236 on a 387-388ci all-bore engine, and the peak power is at 6k rpm, although it is fairly flat to about 6500 rpm. My car is an M6, but idle at 1000 rpm works for me, maybe a bit high for the cam I have. I am swapping out to a 242/242 cam this weekend to see how that works out.

Id suggest maybe starting with shift points at 6500 rpm, limiter at 6800. Just some guesses to get you started off based on similar engine and reading about some A4 setups, maybe someone with a similar setup on an A4 can help you out a bit further.

I'd start with a 900 rpm idle and go from there.

It may be a bit smallish, but it sounds like you'll have a very streetable combination with good performance.
