Default What are the effects of a loose timing chain?

Car threw a C0336 CPK perfomane code. The car now won't run. I changed the sensor, checked the wires and everything is good. I can't see any play or movement with the reluctor wheel. (Lunati crank) I pulled off the front and the Rollmaster double has 1/2" or more play in it. I can actually turn the crank about 4* to 5* without the camshaft moving. Would this be enough to cause to 2 sensors to read different enough readings to stop the car from running? I woiuld appreciate any knowledgeable responses.

Well 4 to 5 degress is alot of play, it is a possibility. My timing chain was tense but nothing to tight. When i installed my cam i would spin my crank alittle and everything would move with it, without hesitation.
