Default Basic LS1 Stroker Information Wanted

Hey guys/gals,

I'm starting to get into the ls1's and was looking at stroker options for the ls1?

What stroke/rod/piston combos are used in the different configurations?

Which one's need an oil support ring?

I looked quickly and did not find a quick sticky about strokers, so if you could point me in that direction, that would be fine as well

i can't remember anything about the oil support rings but here is a few stroke/bore combos, most use 6.125 rods.
382-384 = 4.0 stroke,3.898"-3.910" bore using the stock ls1-ls6 block

now when using a 6.0 or ls2 block.
402=4.0" stroke 4.0" bore
408 = only difference is a .030" bore
414 = bored .060"
usually people use the iron block for a 4.03'" or 4.06" bore because the aluminum ls2 block may be alittle thin.
418 = 4.1" stroke with a 4.030" bore, 4.06" bore makes it between a 424-425 cube.
if you use a 4.125" stroke with a 4.03" bore and 4.06" bore the cubes is 421 and 427.
then you get into stuff like the l92,ls7, or sleeved or aftermarket blocks but i'll stop now.

an old school 350 sbc bored .030 over with a 3.75" crank is a 383 but the lsx mills are totally different.

heres another solid, strictly informational, site on this.
http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...1_stroker.html

to look into who to buy from, i would stick with some names we know...like lunati, eagle, etc...trusted quality forged goods for your project. i must say i contemplated stroking about a year ago, and still might just not right now...boring the aluminum block should be kept to a minimum while you should put a longer stroke in to achieve the cubes..unlike the old school SBC 350s.....anyways, if i see nething else ill post up. goodluck.
