What valve springs are these?
Got these springs for free from a local shop. They bought them new, took them out of the box for some reason. They sat for a few months, customer never got the engine built and never used the springs. I know they a LSX dual springs with Titanium Retainers. They work with the stock retainers, but thats all I know. The shop couldnt remember who made the springs and cant find the box. Just wondering if anyone could ID these springs and let me know what shims I need to use. I would assume they use a different one than the stock heads because they are dual springs. Any help would be great. Thanks

I think they are Patriot Gold springs sold by many of the sponsors--->
same springs Iam using in My LS1 FC.
If indeed they are, they are rated for up to .650 lift and it was suggested mine to be shimmed to within .050 of coil bind.
You should hold off till one of the "gurus" responds to either confirm or correct Me. Carl.

The retainers look like Patriot extremes .
Patriot Golds have a flat top retainer , And the extremes have a curved top like the photo .
If they are indeed the extremes they take the 10deg locks ,(Not the standard 7deg ) and they are rated to 660 lift .
Try a standard lock and if it doesn't fit you know its the extremes for sure .

These are not Patriot Golds or Patriot Xtreme springs. BTW, the Patriot Golds and Xtremes use the same retainers and same Super 7 machined locks. These may be a set of the old REV dual springs. What ever they are, none of the parts appear to be ours.
Remember, just because they look like the best...doesn't mean they perform like the best !!

I just installed a set of the Patriot Extreme Golds, they have a
highly polished finish to them and are a really nice spring.
Your springs have not been polished so they must be a different brand.
Have your shop check the pressure at a typical 1.800 installed height
and you should be able to determine what they are.

Your better bet is to have them scaled.
See what the "on the seat" weight is as well as the open weight.
Mock them up on the head, run to max lift, measure the compressed height at max lift and then duplicate on a valve spring scale/installed height scale checker thingy.
Then, bounce the numbers off of your cam maker and see what they say. Shim to installed height and then go burn rubba!

As far as polishing. It does help.
Maybe take them to a good ol machine shop (job shop) and ask if they have a "sharks tooth tumbler" or some other parts deburring machine.
Buy the boss lunch and ask if you can run them through the machine for a few hours. It'll buff em up real nice and make em perty.
Won't hurt anything either. Just a vibratory tumbler with ceramic beads or "sharks teeth" looking chips made to deburr new parts.
It's the same finish that JESEL rockers have when new.
