Default Need Help Deciding on A Cam

I just bought a pair of Patriot Stage III Ls6 Heads for my firehawk. I need to get a cam that would best match these heads. The heads have been converted from 64cc to 59cc. I want to have a good power curve but i want low end torque mostly. Any suggestions?

i got the stageII ls6 patriot heads, 59cc, i went with the patriot 226/226 cam, i was surprised how well it work down low, its like the stock cam on steroids,

if your heads have bin converted to 59cc they most likely dont have welded chambers like the standart 59cc's? that i think limited the coive of cams for you,

23x/23X and around 600lift is thiu maximum for the stock 59's wit out flycutting, or atleast thats what gunnar@patriot sad to me

Interesting, what numbers did u put down and what lift and LSA is the cam on. I remember Predator reccommnding this cam for a really nice power under the curve and yet good up top still.

Don't go with the MS3 if you are looking for good curve. Going off your last thread. I would suggest a custom cam as well.

i just dont know yet, i was hoping for about 430ish rwhp, full bolt on, all free modds, head/cam, full exhaust, fast90/90,

im not started to beat the.. Shi*t out of it yet, but at half throttle it seems do accelerate more than it did at WT when it was stock,

Well it should have excellent throttle response, sounds like it hauls. Let us know when you get results, you didn't say what the lift and LSA were though?

Don't mean to be negative but patriot stage III probably has big volume on the runners. If you really want low end torque those aren't a good choice. But with the right cam they will give you big power numbers for sure.

I hope you dont plan on putting those heads on a stock bore. I was told that there would be to much shrouding around the valves and that the stage 3's were meant for a 4in. bore. I talked to gunnar and a few other guys at patriot when picking my heads. They said the same port work goes into the stage 2's as the stage 3's the only difference is the valve sizes are bigger on the stage 3's. I went with the patriot stage 2's with the 59cc chambers and a 228/230 and 585/585 lift cam on a 112lsa and I put down 445rwhp with my setup. Hope this gives you some direction.
