Default Rebuilding my LS1, will someone checkover my parts list?

So my '99 LS1 T56 has 56k miles. Just got the car dirt cheap, but the previous owner used nitrous and now under HARD acceleration it smokes a little, presumably b/c blow-by. Well it angers me and I want to fix it. So I will be having the engine rebuilt by a guy in Kirksville MO. I don't want to spend too much money but want a solid engine. The car already has shorty headers and an unknown cam, presumably ~212/218ish. I have the car tuned for the cam and am happy w/ performance, so I don't really want to change that. Heres what I plan to do:

Port/Polish Stock heads
Stainless 2.02/1.6 valves
Comp dual gold valve springs
Hone cylinders, new piston rings
Measure specs of cam
LS6 oil pump
LS2 timing chain
multi layer head gaskets
ARP head studs and main bolts
LS7 lifters and pushrods
New motor mounts
160 degree thermostat
LS6 valley cover to fix PCV system
LS6 intake

Any input is appreciated!
Thanks,
Doug

Supposedly the engine was rebuilt once in the past with new rings. Dont think the hone job was any good and thus the need for another rebuild. Can these blocks be honed twice? Should I get new forged pistons to minimize ring gap while I'm at it?

you might come out as cheap with getting a set of ls6/243 casting heads. by the time you add in machine work for the larger valves and porting. the ls6 heads have a slightly smaller cc chamber to increase compression and add in a set of .040 cometics and you would see a good improvement.

if it's coming all the way apart then I would upgrade the rod bolts too while it's apart. Bring the block to someone that knows LS1's

Is there a good possiblity the piston ring seats were destroyed by the nitrous? Will I likely need new pistons too? It seems like a new LS2 long block might be of comparable price, but wouldn't this be better if done correctly?
