Default COst to build a stroker LS1

I know this is a guess...but what would a decent shop charge to take a stock LS1 and build the motor into a stroker; say greater that 400 cu inches.

This would be all forged "value" internals like Eagle or Scat crank, Rods & JE pistons. Heads would be off the shelf value heads say 210cc and a good XER cam.

Thanks!

your looking at $400-$600 in labor and you can price out the rest.

Forged kits run about 2k for a 383. All you have to do I think is clearance the block...New gaskets and head bolts, $250

I don't believe you can take the stock LS1 block over a 383. You need a LS2 6.0 block to hit 400+ ci. Also your internals will probably add up to around $1500 in the end & probably more like $1000+ in machine/shop labor especially if you get it all assembled & balanced there.

lets see......cheepest kit i ever found for a rotating assembly was on ebay 1795.00 buy it now.....plus shipping.. before it goes in you have to=
hot tank motor, press in cam bearings, bore, hoan, balance, comp. test, possibly file fit rings depending on the size you go with, it can get away from ya for sure......
my last quote was around like 3400.00......but why do that when you can call tsp and get their 408 short block for 3500.00.....
i dont know man.....
i just went out and got a lq4 block sent to machine shop.....bought new rings, bearings, and rods, then boosted it....i have less than 800 in parts and labor but 2500 in turbo parts.....it's a vicious cycle
just depends on how deep your pockets are lol
good luck

I just spent, oh, about 3,500 bucks stroking a motor to a 383... and it's not even an LS1. But then again the guy at the machine shop is a top-notch guy who used to work at Sallee Chevrolet which is known for building race engines so he knows what the hell he's doing.
so, i'd be willing to bet it's gonna cost you at least that much
