So i was about to take the cam out and I was sliding in the 5/16 wooden dowels.....the drivers side slid in fine, the passenger would go in about half way and then wouldnt budge, I spun the cam like a billion times and it still wouldnt move......so I grabbed my pen magnet out of my tool box to try and pick up the lifter it was stuck on.....when I put the magnet on the lifter and tried to pull up it wouldnt move....In fact it was on the lifter so ******* good that when I tried to pull the pen magnet off the god damn mother ******* piece of **** magnet stayed on the lifter and the pen came apart....so I need some help, what are my options here.....

either get another pen magnet or pull the head.....only two options i can think of.

yea if your lifter wont come up then your prolly gonna have to take off the head.

that sucks man, I've heard a couple shitty situations with magnets, thats why I bought the TR cam install tool. Hope you get it out without pullin the head

Similiar situation with me. Lifter wouldn't stay up at all. I figured if I was pulling the stock heads to get to it, I wasn't putting stock heads back on. $3600 later my "Cam Only" swap turned into H/C/I. Bought new heads/ ported FAST and new injectors. My credit card is still burning in my wallet. Those are the breaks. If you don't have the coin/credit for new heads, pull the stock heads and spend about $250 for new GM Head Bolts and gaskets. Sorry to hear about your luck.
