Default Nitrous and Flycutting. Discuss

In a thread I made about 5.3 and ls6 heads, I talked about how I didn't want to flycut my pistons because I was going to spray my car every weekend. I know that when you mod a motor, you start to take life of it when you start making real power. I have been told that nitrous and flycut pistons will kill an engine very quickly. I daily drive the car in the summer and i do not want to worry about my flycut pistons breaking.

So lets have a good conversation about flycutting and constant nitrous use.

I don't know much about nitrous but maybe the boys in the nitrous forrum can help you out more. I am sure someone here can too, but try a search in that forruma nd you should have your answer, but I don't think there's a problem with what you are considering. I'd never go through the trouble to flycut so I can runa **** load of nitrous though. Get it done right and get some forged dished pistons and spray away

Tons of people claim you'll have a problem. But none of them can name one person who has seen a piston break from it. IMHO, with a sensible flycut (.070" or so) you'll see your ringlands go well before the piston top goes.
